Our Cerasuolo di Vittoria DOCG

Among the hills of Caltagirone, close to the ancient Roman archaeological site of San Mauro, in a corner of Sicily well known for its thousand-year-old history and the quality of its agricultural products, our Cerasuolo di Vittoria DOCG (Denomination of Controlled and Guaranteed Origin) comes to life.

This wine, which carries the evocative name of cerasa cherry in Sicilian dialect is the result of the harmonious union between Nero d’Avola and Frappato, two native grape varieties that speak about the land.
It’s a red wine deeply rooted in history, but able to speak with a young and contemporary voice, fully expressing the authentic soul of Sicily.

SOIL TYPE

The soils of the Cerasuolo di Vittoria area are mainly distinguished by their sandy texture, with a moderate presence of fine gravel and a medium depth. Around 70 cm deep, there is a layer of clay, essential for the soil’s ability to retain water and, consequently, to ensure a good water balance for the plants.

VINEYARD SOIL

Among the hills near the San Mauro excavations, the grapes for our Cerasuolo di Vittoria are born. It’s an ideal environment, where altitude, light, and natural ventilation contribute to a slow and harmonious ripening of the clusters. Each berry is carefully selected to preserve the aromas and balance that make this wine authentic and unmistakable.

ABV

14.5% vol.

PAIRING

It’s the ideal partner for richer first courses of the Mediterranean tradition, but it also pairs perfectly with grilled meats, game, and medium-aged cheeses. Its freshness balances the intense flavors, while its bold character enhances every nuance, making it an irreplaceable companion for moments of togetherness.

WINEMAKING

In the winery, fermentation takes place in steel vats at a controlled temperature, with a 7-day maceration that allows for the balanced extraction of aromas, color, and structure, while respecting the grape variety’s characteristics.

The result is a wine with great personality, character, and freshness. A well-balanced, long-lived, and elegant red, capable of authentically telling the story of its land.

ORGANOLETIC NOTES

Rosso Velato is like a sunset that caresses the land with its golden light. It has the lightness of a warm breeze, yet also the silent power of the sun at its peak. Its bright red evokes a summer afternoon, while the scent of red fruits, delicate spices, and dried flowers recalls the warmth of the sun. On the palate, it is soft and enveloping, with a vibrant freshness that balances sweetness and acidity, like the light filtering through the leaves of a vineyard at sunset. Rosso Velato is the melancholy of a fading summer, a kiss under the sun, the warmth of a day giving way to the evening without fading away.

Cosmic Love

Rosso Velato and Nero Alchemico are like day and night, the sun and the moon, memory and change. Rosso Velato is the nostalgia of a sunset that warms the heart, while Nero Alchemico is the promise of the night, pushing you to dare, to transform, to be reborn. Together, they create a perfect balance between nostalgia and renewal, between sweetness and strength like the past fading away and the future taking shape. It’s almost like a love story: Rosso Velato is the passion that softens but stays in the heart, while Nero Alchemico is the rebirth, the change, the next chapter.
